A woke church in the heart of London faced backlash for organizing a fashion show that celebrated Islamic clothing.
St. John’s Church in Hyde Park hosted a “modest fashion week” catwalk featuring “parades of hijab- and niqab-wearing women,” according to video posted by the watchdog Subversive Force.
It noted that “No mosque in Britain would ever host the equivalent event.”
Among the event’s cosponsors was British Muslim Magazine, which has published articles supporting Islamic views that the husband is the head of the household and women should be relegated to homemaking roles.
“The duty of managing the household, and taking care of the husband’s and children’s needs fall under the dominion of the wife,” it wrote in a 2021 article still visible on the front page of the magazine’s website.
In a series of follow-up posts, Subversive Force pointed out other recent controversies involving the Church of England and its departure from any semblance of religious tradition.
It noted that St. John’s also had hosted a somewhat immodest parade of shirtless men as part of its “fashion week.”
The event comes on the heels of a controversy in which the Archbishop of Canterbury, who is the senior leader of the church after King Charles III, was forced to withdraw an award given to a Muslim cleric who had praised Osama bin Laden.
Dame Sarah Mullally, the woke archbishop, honored Hafiz Muhammad Tahir Mehmood Ashrafi for his “outstanding work as an ambassador of interfaith harmony” and “commitment to promoting religious tolerance” the very same week that the United States was commemorating the 9/11 terrorist attacks.
After it came to light that Ashrafi had praised bin Laden in 2007 as the “sword of God,” Mullally’s office was forced to issue the retraction, saying “comments made by Imam Ashrafi have come to light that have led [us] to reconsider this award and we can now confirm that the award has been withdrawn.”
A photo of the award ceremony was also condemned for “condoning oppression” as it showed Ashrafi’s wife decked out in full niqab with only her eyes and hands visible.
The scandals are just the latest warning signs regarding the ostensibly Christian nation capitulating to its takeover by Muslim immigrants.
