Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez's decision to grant amnesty opened the floodgates, incentivizing roughly 60,000 able-bodied, military-aged men from Muslim countries to enter unprotected Spanish territory. That’s more than a third of the force that stormed the beaches of Normandy on D-Day during the largest seaborne invasion in history.
Spain serves as the most recent example and reminder of the consequences of failed border policies—Policies that show what happens when a nation projects weakness, blurs the line between legal and illegal immigration, and signals that crossing into their nation unlawfully is permitted. History has taught us that one election can alter the fate of our nation, which is why maintaining a Republican majority in both the House and Senate is critical to continuing strong border policies and ensuring our nation’s safety is not undermined by an administration change.
The choice for voters this November is clear: our nation cannot afford to repeat the mistakes of failed border policies that put our sovereignty, security, values, traditions, and the way of life that has defined America for generations at risk. Never again.
