The confrontation escalated quickly as Posobiec tried to redirect the situation while the passerby pressed him on immigration and birthright citizenship.
It began with Posobiec reacting to the interruption and trying to bring the man back into frame: “Look at this guy. Oh, we got a cowboy—turn the phone. Come back, sir. Come back. Come back. Come back.”
As the passerby approached, Posobiec attempted to control the setting and keep things orderly: “How are you? Please come back. Here, boys, step aside. Step aside. No cursing. Can you do no cursing? Okay. All right, because we can’t do cursing on air. We’re FCC.”
The conversation then shifted sharply into immigration policy, with Posobiec stating: “So yes. Yes, I do believe we should get rid of [birthright citizenship].”
That triggered a direct challenge from the passerby, who brought up his family background and raised concerns about citizenship policy: “My mom is… my mom was English. My dad was Irish, right? Do I get to stay in the country when you guys pass laws that kick out all the Irish and the Italians and all the people of color?”
Posobiec responded by framing the issue around birthright citizenship: “All right, that’s birthright citizenship.” The passerby pressed further, referencing political power and potential policy changes:
“When you pass laws… you have four votes to overturn birthright citizenship.”
Posobiec responded with a more confrontational tone: “Oh, I can’t wait. It’s gonna be great." He added, "well, for illegal aliens. For illegal aliens, you understand it's for illegal aliens, right?”
The passerby interjected, "it's not," with Posobiec replying, “Well, that’s what the law is.”
The passerby said, "you guys are white, Anglo-Saxon Protestants, white supremacists." Posobiec then pushed back on the idea that his political position would exclude him from civic participation: "I’m actually Catholic and Polish. So what? I can vote for everyone. It’s the United States. I’m not allowed to vote for who I want to, sir?”
“You vote for the wrong person… you vote for somebody who wants to kick you out of the country," the passerby said.
Posobiec rejected that framing: “I’m not gonna be kicked out of the country. It’s America. My wife’s an immigrant right there, man. You’re saying I can’t vote for who I want.”
As the exchange became more chaotic, Posobiec attempted to regain control of the situation and the filming environment: "I said no cursing. Sir, sir, sir. It’s going to be overturned whether you like it or not because it’s illegal.”
“There’s children around and you are the one who… has a big problem," Posobiec said before the man walked off.
Later in the episode while talking to his brother Kevin, Jack Posobiec explained why it is that they do what they do:
“We lost our home town to crime… and illegal aliens… that’s why we do what we do, because it’s about taking care of this old girl, fighting for this land, fighting for these principles, because if we don’t, those guys will come take it from us.
Kevin responded: “They absolutely will, especially Philadelphia as an advocate for the American workers, blue collar community, we have here the first bank of the United States, the first hospital, Benjamin Franklin, the mastermind and inventor. You’re talking about working with your hands,
