The discussion followed a Bloomberg report indicating federal prosecutors are examining whether Comey could face additional legal exposure beyond the charges already filed against him. Posobiec opened the segment by tying the new report to ongoing scrutiny surrounding Comey. “Apparently, you know, prosecutors at the DOJ must be listening to our show because Bloomberg News just broke the story that DOJ prosecutors in Virginia are pursuing separate charges against James Comey for allegedly leaking classified information in, and I believe this would be in conjunction with President Trump and some of those earlier, you know, earlier iterations of the New York Times article and the Russiagate situation with the Steele dossier. So, Molly, again, we see the President here really taking a new tack, I think, going directly after James Comey.”
Hemingway said the developments align with longstanding concerns among Trump supporters over Comey’s conduct while leading the FBI. “Well, there is this issue where people elected Donald Trump in part because they were horrified at what people like James Comey had done to our institutions.”
She said Comey had previously used leaks for political purposes. “James Comey, yes, he leaked, again, to hurt Donald Trump, but he also leaked to hurt Hillary Clinton, according to what we know. And so I wouldn't be surprised if there were additional leaks that he had done for political gain.”
Hemingway argued that officials who misuse institutional authority should face consequences. “When you have people like that in positions of incredible power and trust, and they abuse those positions, it is important that they be held accountable. And we have not seen that thus far.”
“You don't really have a republic if people are allowed to run an absolute coup attempt against a duly elected president by falsely accusing him of being a traitor who colluded with Russia to steal the 2016 election. And I think we all know that James Comey knew that wasn't true.”
“And yet he perpetuated that. And I've reported on how he demanded that the obviously joke of a dossier be included in that IC, the intelligence community assessment, that was then distributed to members of Congress, all to make them believe this absolutely delusional conspiracy theory.”
The new report comes after Comey surrendered to federal authorities following a grand jury indictment tied to a 2025 social media post in which he shared an image of seashells arranged to display “86 47.” Federal prosecutors charged Comey with threatening to kill President Donald Trump and transmitting the threat in interstate and foreign commerce. Comey has denied wrongdoing.
