The SAVE Act, which requires people to prove they are American citizens to cast a ballot in federal elections, is popular across all American demographics. Even 71 percent of Democrats support voter ID in recent Pew polling. And yet almost every Democrat in the House voted against it, and Democrats are holding together to filibuster a vote on it in the Senate.
In the end, there are only nefarious reasons why Democratic politicians and their rabid, well-organized army of street hooligans oppose it. They want to cheat.
Let's start at the legislation itself, as it, like everything else, has been badly misrepresented in the legacy media.
The Safeguard American Voter Eligibility Act aims to ensure that only U.S. citizens may vote in U.S. elections. That means no foreigners, such as the umpteen million illegals Biden let in, voting. It accomplishes this by the simplest method imaginable: requiring valid proof of citizenship through one of the following methods.
Voters will be required to show an enhanced driver's license that shows citizenship status; a government-issued photo ID card that lists citizenship status; a U.S. passport; a U.S. military identification card; any other valid government-issued photo ID card together with evidence of birth as a U.S. citizen or naturalization.
The enhanced driver's license is needed because there are 18 Democratic-run states that do two things undermining America: they give a driver's license to any illegal immigrant because then they are no longer "undocumented," and then they automatically register everyone who gets a driver's license to vote. And voila! No illegals are voting, and therefore no foreigners. It's all a legalized lie, but there it is.
Democrats and their media minions will tut-tut that there are safeguards. Are there? Let's see. Democratic run states claim there is a firewall because foreigners who get their driver's license are not eligible to vote. But for many, a person only has to check the box indicating they are eligible to vote, or the box indicating they are not eligible to vote. It's the honor system and when people who don't speak English and are unfamiliar with US laws are in charge of checking one box or another, mistakes can definitely happen even without nefarious intent.
Some variation of this system is the case from California to Massachusetts. There are only shades of gray when it comes to the licensing process, auto voter registration, and the attestation required.
If you think that millions of illegals with "valid" driver's licenses and voter registration are not voting in American elections, then you also probably believe men can get pregnant.
Fortunately and encouragingly, Americans still possess a high degree of common sense on this issue. Polls show surprisingly strong bipartisan support for such laws, even beyond the 71 percent of Democrats and 95 percent of Republicans who favor requiring government-issued photo ID to vote.
Democrats provide two lame reasons for opposing. One is that black Americans simply do not know how to get government IDs. This is not only insulting and racist, but black Americans strongly disagree.
For instance, the same 2025 Pew survey also found that 76 percent of black Americans favor requiring government-issued photo ID to vote, while 82 percent of Hispanics and 85 percent of white Americans also do. That is a lot of agreement.
The other lame reason is that illegal voting by foreigners is rare. That's not really a reason; that is a misdirect. And because blue states give drivers' licenses to foreigners and register people getting a driver's license to vote, we know it is not true. This shows that there is a pretty straight line from this to explaining why Democrats want open borders with mass immigration, then so vehemently fight deportations.
If foreigners really weren't voting, Democrats would not be fighting the SAVE Act so hard. There is only one conclusion: Democrats want foreigners voting because they cannot win without them. In states where these laws allow millions of foreigners to vote, Democrats win. In states that allow only Americans to vote, Republicans win. So Democrats may be on to something.
