NHS workers were seen marching in London on Saturday as part of a large pro-Palestinian and pro-IRGC protest, with video showing some participants chanting about wanting to “kick the Zionists out, out, out.”
Thousands of protesters marched over the weekend through central London carrying Palestinian flags and banners reading “resistance by any means necessary.” Chants heard during the demonstration included “Intifada” and “Death, death, to the IDF!”
Amid the broader protest, a group of NHS workers wearing medical scrubs marched together. Video showed the group chanting slogans including “Free Iran,” “We won’t be silenced,” and “We free our people, we free our land.”
The organization Stop the Hate reportedly organized a counter-protest alongside Iranian dissidents, during which footage from the October 7 attacks and videos showing Iran’s crackdown on women and protesters were screened.
Stop the Hate posted on X, “Those on today's hate march can't say they weren't told about the atrocities committed by Hamas and the IRGC. They know what they're marching for - and it's not peace….Time to call out these marches for what they are.”
Metropolitan Police said multiple arrests were made during the protest. Among those arrested were two individuals detained on suspicion of showing support for a proscribed organization. Police said the individuals were seen carrying banners reading “We are all Palestine Action.” Palestine Action was designated a terrorist organization by the British government last year, and police have since made numerous arrests for alleged public support of the group.
