LIBBY EMMONS: The UK has lost the plot when they arrest a comedy writer over tweets—don't let America be next

British comedy writer Graham Linehan, who has been shunned and canceled in the entertainment industry for speaking out against trans, was arrested in England after he returned there from Arizona, where he's been living and working. As soon as he stepped off the plane at Heathrow, he was snagged by five police officers and taken into custody. The charge? Three tweets.

Once a nation starts arresting people over speech, over social media posts, that nation is essentially lost. The leaders in the UK believe that they have to shut up their citizens rather than address their complaints and concerns.

Here's what Linehan said: "If a trans-identified male is in a female-only space, he is committing a violent, abusing act. Make a scene, call the cops, and if all else fails, punch him in the balls."

He shared a photo of a trans protest in London, with the caption "A photo you can smell." And he wrote in another post "I hate them. Misogynists and homophobes. Fuck em." For these alleged atrocities, he was taken to a cell containing a bunk, a toilet, and a mirror with a message printed on it from Crimestoppers.

Linehan was then grilled by the coppers about his posts. And he didn't let up, he said in his write up on Substack. The officers tried to debate his posts with him, asking him about "trans people," defined, the cop said, as "people who feel their gender is different than what was assigned at birth." Linehan corrected the cop, saying "our sex isn't assigned."

British cops have been trained by trans activist groups. Some of the cops, Linehan said, seemed to be fans of his and to know that what was going on was insane, but they couldn't say it outright. And while he's in the UK, he's prevented from tweeting.

Who is the government listening to? They're listening to migrants who came to the UK illegally and were then given masses of benefits to support their lifestyles on the land they had usurped from citizens. They're listening to trans activists who demand that law support lies.

The UK has given itself over to globalist interests that don't care about the nation, the citizens, or their freedoms, and would be content to extinguish a British culture that has survived and flourished for centuries. In law, arts, literature, and sovereignty, the English, the Angles, the Saxons, the Celts, the Scots are losing their nation and it's unlikely they will be able to get it back. They've given away their freedoms for some kind of globalist hegemony and it's not worth it.

Speaking to Brendan O'Neill on a podcast, David Starkey said that to preserve a national culture, leaders must understand "how you respond to change, that you've got to have a notion of what is good change and what is bad change."

Starkey brought up 19th century statesman Benjamin Disraeli, saying that he "came up with this masterly formula that you only accept change when it's in the broad lines with the tradition of your country," which makes an enormous amount of sense. Accept change that is in line with national values, culture, civil norms and laws, and reject those that are not.

Nations that value themselves cannot "change in accordance with the principles of international liberalism," Starkey said. This is a lesson that must be learned in America before we give away our country fully to globalists, Islamic extremists, and far left activists intent on dismantling America and taking its parts and prosperity for themselves.

The UK is lost. They're arresting people for social media posts and they're doing it quite frequently, with data suggesting it's up to some 30 people per day, or 12,000 per year. It's not just an arrest with caution, these people see the inside of a prison cell, often for months at a time. And the posts vary. They're not all about trans.

UK citizens are arrested for complaining about mass migration, about foreign flags being flown over their high streets, a candidate with the Reform Party was arrested for waving the Union Jack in a public building. Muslims are allowed to hold mass prayer in public squares but Christians are arrested for praying—silently—near abortion clinics.

America's closest ally has entirely lost the plot. They don't value their own culture, their own people, or their own freedoms. They have gone so far into the progressive realm that the nation is unrecognizable.

Our country platforms and promotes anti-American ideas in Zohran Mamdani or the People's Conference for Palestine or the ACLU demanding that everyone trans their kids (a slight hyperbole, but not by much) and that the US have open borders.

None of this is sustainable. Our culture matters, our nation matters, our people matter and our freedom matters above all else.
