Last week, our nation witnessed a completely avoidable tragedy caused by the complicit governance of the progressive state of California's leadership. On August 12th, three Americans were killed in a deadly crash by an illegal alien from India named Harjinder Singh after he made an unlawful U-turn that caused the accident.
The incident took the lives of a 30-year-old man, a 37-year-old woman, and a 54-year-old man. Singh's illegal entry into the United States is bad enough, but let's be clear: California's lenient policy when it comes to illegal aliens garnering the same privileges as everyday Americans, such as obtaining a CDL (commercial driver's license) in this instance, has now cost our nation's citizens their lives. Now more than ever, the Trump Administration's crackdown on these practices should be embraced by every state government instead of rejected by petty sycophants like California Governor Gavin Newsom.
For the longest time under Democratic leadership, California has continued to prioritize illegal aliens over its own state's naturally born citizens. Not only does the state allow illegals to vote in their state and local elections in many cases, but it has now permitted the operation of a heavy-duty truck at the hands of an inexperienced alien who was never supposed to be in America in the first place.
Not only is it evident that Singh could not operate a vehicle like the one he used to kill Americans, but he should never have been allowed to be considered to sit for the California CDL exam in the first place. Unfortunately, in 2015, the California General Assembly passed Assembly Bill 60 (AB 60), which allows illegal aliens to apply for a driver's license. California, America's proudest sanctuary city, has ensured that they have embraced death and destruction as a way of pandering to illegal aliens instead of the simple public safety they are supposed to provide to United States citizens living in their state.
The virtue signaling from Democrats on Trump's immigration policies thus far in his second term is laughable when situations like this are cross-applied to previous administrations. Lax policies of the Biden Administration have allowed these individuals to remain in our country and reap the benefits of progressive ideology, as seen in Singh's actions in California.
This incident makes it clear that the current deportation, strict legal immigration, and restrictions on states' immigration laws that President Trump has prioritized need to continue to be underscored as his term continues.
Policies like mandating an English proficiency exam for any state-issued exam, a nationwide audit of state practices when it comes to policies that affect any state-issued identification, and simply deporting criminals like Singh the moment that he is charged with any violent action against citizens of the United States, all need to become the forefront of immigration policies within our republic.
After the outrage last week by Democrats over the federalization of Washington, DC to combat crime within the nation's capital, it has never been more evident that even further federal intervention in states like California is needed. An even more expansive role by the Trump Administration is desperately needed to curb the progressive policies that are killing Americans and eroding the heritage that it took our ancestors so long to build.
The White House rightly laid the blame directly at Governor Newsom's feet, stating that, "While Democrats put criminal illegal aliens over the Americans they claim to represent, the Trump Administration provides no such safe harbor and is seeking to place the individual into removal proceedings." These reckless state practices are what the Democratic Party wants to embrace, as they race-pander to paint themselves as the good guys when all they are doing is costing Americans their jobs, safety, and lives.
The American people know better. They trust that the policies the Trump Administration has made a priority have made our nation safer, more economically prosperous, and far more opportunity-driven for the natural-born residents who live in our great country. National safety involves protecting our people from enemies, foreign and domestic, and that includes putting Americans first.
Federal authority needs to continue to expand into these states to prevent the destruction that Democrats have caused through their Marxist practices, such as their lenient immigration policies and their prioritization of illegal aliens over American citizens. Trump needs to be allowed to fully Make America Safe Again, regardless of progressive pushback from lickspittles like Gavin Newsom.
