It includes 114 pages of declassified emails and memos that reveal how members of the Obama Administration allegedly orchestrated a false narrative. This narrative, based on the discredited Steele dossier, nearly tore the Republic apart due to the perceived Russian interference in our elections. The involvement of officials such as James Clapper, John Brennan, Susan Rice, and others in this scheme to discredit an American presidential election winner is deeply troubling. The Obama Administration, it seems, manufactured this evidence to turn the American public against their President-elect and to discredit anything he and his administration were going to do during his first term.
Manipulating intelligence that implicates a foreign government and asserting an American figure, as a result, is grounds for the prosecution of President Obama. Director Gabbard stated that Obama allegedly intended to "subvert the will of the American people" in who they elected as their President in 2016, in Donald Trump. This elitist overreach by the Obama Administration and the deep state to subvert anything the Trump Administration would attempt to do deserves criminal referrals, prosecutions, and an outright disavowal from the Democratic Party, but, per usual, they continue to defend their power brokers.
There will be many on the left, as there have been already, who will argue that Gabbard's claims are illegitimate, politically biased, and outright false due to the Mueller report having bipartisan Senate findings on Russian interference. However, that report solely concentrated on broad interference, rather than direct voter manipulation, which was what the Obama Administration implied to the American public. While Gabbard may be portrayed as a vengeful partisan agent of change, we must remember that accountability is not vengeance, but rather a necessary tool for restoring trust in America's institutions that have steadily been lost over the past decade. The need for accountability is urgent, and it is the only way to restore the trust that has been eroded.
Prosecuting President Obama and his administration, who were complicit in the subversion of his successor's administration, is essential. The American public deserves the truth about why they were lied to about Russia's role in the 2016 election. President Donald Trump was discredited at every turn by the vast majority of American media due to the falsehoods that the Obama Administration tainted him with before he ever served a day in office.
Trump's reputation with the rest of the world has suffered because his predecessor deliberately damaged the trust the American electorate had in the institutions that they are supposed to be protected by.
