Last week, Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) raids at two massive cannabis operations (Glass House Farms in Camarillo and Carpinteria) led to the arrest of over 360 illegal immigrants. This included at least 14 minors who were rescued from the farms.
Among the detained was a convicted child sex predator, lurking amid the rows of pot plants and completely unaccountable for any actions he might take against the vulnerable youths. These weren't just "undocumented farm workers seeking a better life," as the left loves to spin it. They were victims of a system fueled by open borders, cartel influence, and human trafficking.
And here's the kicker: without those ICE operations, this hellish reality would have stayed buried under layers of liberal denial.
This story proves what conservatives have been shouting from the rooftops for years: what the left calls love is hate. They've smeared us as hateful bigots for demanding secure borders while constantly labeling us as racists, xenophobes, white nationalists, you name it.
Why? Simply because we refuse to let millions flood in unchecked, because of the our demand to protect our borders. But look at the fruits of their so-called "kindness." Uncontrolled migration empowers the cruel: Mexican cartels, who traffic humans like commodities, undoubtedly played a role in forcing these children into backbreaking labor on these "legal" weed farms.
These kids, smuggled across the border, aren't picking buds for fun; they're enslaved in dangerous conditions, exposed to chemicals, predators, and exploitation, all while the farms rake in profits. This is what happens when you allow policy to be dictated to you by an ideology of lies and toxic empathy.
Borders are good. They help us safeguard the moral order of our country. Without them, nations dissolve, and the innocent suffer.
Remember the timeless truth: when you are kind to the cruel, you end up being cruel to the kind. The left's open-arms policy toward illegal immigration is Exhibit A. By refusing to enforce laws, they've handed power to traffickers and cartels, who flood our communities with fentanyl, sex slaves, and now child laborers on pot plantations.
These raids didn't just bust a farm; they exposed how lax enforcement turns America into a playground for predators. Leftist protesters clashed violently with agents, even firing shots at ICE and CBP officers while they rescued those kids. One worker died amid the chaos, a tragic reminder of the human cost when lawlessness reigns. And the farms? Glass House denied knowingly hiring minors. Still, the evidence speaks louder: undocumented children toiling away, endangered and unseen until Donald Trump's Administration dared to restore law and order.
The left decries these raids as "cruel" and "inhumane," yet they're the ones who'd rather keep this suffering hidden. If not for ICE, which Democrats consistently demonize as some fascist force, these abuses might never have come to light.
DHS officials noted this was the largest such operation in Trump's second term, rescuing children from potential forced labor and launching a child labor probe. But watch the media spin: BBC headlines focus on the "chaotic" raids and protester clashes, downplaying the child victims. It's as if exposing evil is the real crime. They wish it stayed swept under the rug, preserving their narrative that borders are bigotry.
But the truth is this: love isn't lawless. It's grounded in justice and mercy, as God Himself ordained. Scripture makes it abundantly clear that borders are a design from God. They're divine ideas, etched into creation from the Tower of Babel, where God scattered nations to prevent unchecked human hubris (Genesis 11:1-9). Enforcing them is protection.
Micah 6:8 calls us to "act justly and to love mercy," not to enable exploiters in the name of "inclusivity." Deuteronomy 10:18-19 commands love for the foreigner, but within the framework of Israel's borders and laws, hospitality with accountability, not chaos. When we ignore this, we mock God's standard: pretending mercy without justice is like building a house on sand.
The right has it right: compassion demands borders. We've warned that mass migration exploits the desperate, empowering cartels who traffic kids into fields where they're treated like disposable tools. California's weed industry, bloated by legalization, has become a magnet for this horror. Farms are hiring cheap, illegal labor to undercut Americans, all while virtue-signaling about "equity." These raids are a wake-up call: secure the border, deport the criminals, and rescue the victims. Anything less is cruelty disguised as kindness.
If we can properly transmit this message to the country, it will take away the power of the left's argument. They love to label every policy the right holds as hateful. But time and time again, we see the results. It is time for us to reframe the argument. The left hates what is good. As a country, will we choose the left's hollow "love," which breeds suffering and empowers evil? Or will we embrace true justice? God's way. The way that protects the innocent by being tough on the cruel?
The children on those farms deserve better. So does our nation. It's time to build the wall, enforce the laws, and reclaim what makes America great: ordered liberty under God.
