America needs Donald J. Trump back in the White House.

To say this is almost redundant; anyone who’s paid any attention to politics in the past four years (and who is not afflicted with Trump Derangement Syndrome) can tell that it’s true. However, what is equally true is that America doesn’t deserve to face four years of Kamala Harris. And no, not just because no one deserves four years of being nagged by a contentless, morally superior Mean Girl, but because, after four years of Biden, we think the lesson has already been driven home: the Democrats – and especially their woke Left base – are not serious, honest, or even functional.

To see that, you have only to look back at the last four years, beginning in 2020. Back then, a nation ravaged by terror over a new disease, beaten down by specious accusations of bigotry which could not even be refuted without risking being banned from social media, and just desperate to escape the political drama which they (falsely) believed was the fault of Trump’s Republican party, chose to elect a Democrat they were assured was the last voice of moderate normalcy. Granted, compared to the rest of the people running in the 2020 Democratic primary (including Vice President Harris), Biden’s “moderation” consisted of taking positions only slightly to the right of the average faculty lounge, but Americans must have hoped that these were mere posturing to win his party’s nomination.

“We know Joe Biden,” they told themselves, “he’s as dull and normal as they get.”

And perhaps this was true, once… that is to say, around circa 2012. However, what the voters didn’t know, because the media went out of their way to lie about it, was that Joe Biden was becoming so mentally impaired that he arguably didn’t even know himself anymore. Without a squadron of aides, or a few shots of Adderall, he was a vegetable.

And as America found out once he took the oath of office, this made him a perfect puppet for the most extreme parts of the Democratic party. The result has been a radical, dangerous, and truly authoritarian White House; one which threatens social media companies to make them shut down its enemies, employs lawfare against anyone and everyone who poses a threat to its ideology, dismisses constitutional principles such as free speech and due process with shockingly open contempt, practices open bigotry and blatant discrimination against politically disfavored racial and religious communities, and which is only redeemed by the fact that it has largely proved too incompetent to make its authoritarianism stick.

It is one of the most grotesque ironies in modern American political history that this White House calls its opponents “fascist.” When you look at their record, the only fascist trait which Biden-Harris have not managed to imitate is the competence required to make the trains run on time. It is also deeply ironic that Karl Marx, an obvious ideological inspiration for at least one of this administration’s figureheads, said that history repeats itself first as tragedy and the second time as farce. Because if one were to compare the Biden administration with the fascist regimes of the past, it’s impossible not to laugh. Compared to the genuinely evil apparatchiks who propped up Hitler and Mussolini, the crowd of third-rate theater kids running our cringe occupied government can only be described as farcical.

However, that does not make the results of their “leadership” any less distressing.  Let’s begin with the economy. Since Biden-Harris took over, inflation has soared, hitting a 40-year high of 9.1 percent in the summer of 2022. Gas prices spiked thanks to the obsessive attempt by imitation Greta Thunbergs within the administration to persecute fossil fuels. At one point, Biden-Harris were forced to tap into America’s strategic oil reserve rather than license new drilling, presumably because their staff were more worried about getting canceled by their environmentalist mutuals on Twitter than about getting canceled from power at the ballot box. Since Biden-Harris took office, unemployment among young people (who have been some of the hardest hit by their anti-growth policies) has dropped only a measly 1.79 percent, even as homeownership, asset ownership, and every other market of adulthood grows stubbornly out of reach of most young Americans. Harris’ campaign claims they want to do something about this last part, but frankly, that’s rich. They’ve done nothing in the past four years. Why would they start now?

Yet compared with the Biden-Harris record on the world stage, economic doldrums almost look preferable. Since taking office, Biden-Harris have immolated America’s international credibility. First, there was the disastrous withdrawal from Afghanistan, one of the most humiliating and poorly managed retreats in the history of American warfare.

Then, because every nation had watched the Afghanistan withdrawal and knew how amateurish the US’s leadership truly was, the world lit on fire. Russia invaded Ukraine, a conflict which is still raging years later, despite the total lack of any discernible, achievable objective among the Ukrainian forces, or indeed, of any discernible advantage for the United States beyond giving its most insufferable foreign policy thinkers an excuse to put the Ukraine flag in their Twitter bios.

Then, last year, when Hamas terrorists mounted the bloodiest attack on the Jewish people since the Holocaust, the Biden administration did everything in its power to tie the Israelis’ hands in their quest to destroy one of the most loathsome terrorist organizations on the planet. They even stopped weapon shipments to Israel, one of the United States’ closest allies, in a fit of pique because the Israeli government refused to have its military strategy dictated to them by the sorts of people who thought Osama bin Laden had a point on TikTok. The result is that what could have been a quick, brutal decimation of a malcontented rump faction in Gaza has morphed into a full-scale regional war, because every anti-Western third world regime can smell the United States’ weakness.

At the same time, the United States’ southern border has become a gold mine for human traffickers thanks to the administration’s utterly feckless and possibly even maliciously ineffective border control policies. At every turn, the Biden administration has tried to flood America with huge migrant populations using only the thinnest of legal justifications to launder their status. It is no accident that even deep blue cities like New York have now thoroughly turned on the Biden-Harris approach to immigration, to say nothing of the woke juvenilia which characterizes more fringe Democratic figures like Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY). The situation is so bad, in fact, that the FBI has had to revise their crime statistics up by massive margins in the past few months. And that’s just the crimes that have been reported; God only knows how many happen under cover of darkness.

All this — and more — is the record which Kamala Harris is running to continue; the legacy which she is trying to extend. And she will do more of the same. We know because she said it herself. When asked whether there was anything she would’ve done differently from the naked corpse emperor Joe Biden, Harris’ answer was as devastating as it was succinct: “Nothing comes to mind.” It is no wonder that the likes of Jeff Bezos are too embarrassed to allow their pet newspapers to endorse a candidate like that; anyone intelligent enough to become an American success story can’t possibly find the last four years anything but humiliating.

We, however, are not embarrassed to state our preference for Donald J. Trump. And as of now, no one should be. There is no shame in wanting a candidate who delivered record economic growth and job growth (including among minorities). There is nothing sinister about wanting to return to the one president whose toughness ensured that no new wars started on his watch. It is not a moral failure to want to be safe in your own neighborhood, or to want your nation to be a nation and not a dumping ground for the third world’s biggest problem children. And frankly, the fact that the Democrats and the far Left ever believed they had the moral authority to condemn anyone for wanting those things is a stain on America’s sanity. The senile, the insane, the emotionally incontinent, the Trump-deranged, and the sexually predatory have run America for the past four years. The inmates have had the run of the asylum. It is time for us to pull out the straitjackets and cattle prods, so that those of us not afflicted with woke insanity can get back to the real work of restoring America’s health, wealth and prosperity.

We at Human Events endorse Donald J. Trump for president. And we hope that come next Tuesday, he will begin the hard work of making America great again.
