href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EzeUTZNsjFk" target="_blank"> discussion between Jordan Peterson and the author Douglas Murray, the spotlight fell on Tommy Robinson and his controversial role in exposing child grooming in the UK. Robinson, known for his polarizing stance and unapologetic approach, has zeroed in on a particularly sensitive issue: the involvement of thousands of Muslim men in these grooming practices. His work has, unsurprisingly, stirred up significant debate. For the uninitiated, Robinson is not just some random, fringe figure shouting from the sidelines; he’s been deeply involved in
It’s important to acknowledge that Robinson’s work touches on aspects of Islamic law that many find uncomfortable. Traditional interpretations within Islam do not mandate puberty for child marriage and sexual relations. In fact, some interpretations allow for practices involving minors, which raises critical and controversial questions about the intersection of religious practices and child exploitation.
Ayatollah Khomeini, a prominent figure in Islamic jurisprudence, has been a subject of significant controversy. In his work Tahrir al-Wasilah (Volume 2, pages 221-222), Khomeini states that while sexual intercourse with a girl under nine is prohibited, non-penetrative acts, such as rubbing the penis between the thighs (known as thighing), are allowed. He also permits non-penetrative contact with a newborn, provided it does not cause harm. If penetration does occur and harms the child, the male is responsible for her lifelong financial support.
Acknowledging these issues is not about attacking Islam as a whole but about confronting uncomfortable realities. Robinson’s investigations force us to confront practices that, while permitted under certain interpretations in certain, non-Western societies, result in severe harm to vulnerable children in Britain. These practices might be tolerated in Tehran or Islamabad, but they have no place in London or Liverpool. Civilized society requires a complete rejection of uncivilized conduct.
The damage caused by grooming gangs, mostly made up of people with Pakistani heritage, is devastating. Robinson’s work has uncovered the extent of trauma inflicted on young victims, some of whom have been driven to suicide due to the extreme abuse they suffered. His dedication to exposing these crimes, despite the backlash, highlights a critical need for honest and open discussions about child protection and cultural practices.
What’s particularly unsettling is the silence from many left-leaning outlets when it comes to addressing child grooming. They would prefer to focus on Robinson, the man addressing the problem, than the problem itself. Robinson didn’t start the fire. He is trying to put it out. Yet he is being painted as a provocative pyromaniac.
What’s going on here? Dig a little deeper, and the ugly truth begins to reveal itself.
Child groomers mainly prey on young, white girls. The racial and demographic targeting is a crucial aspect of the story, reflecting deeper societal issues and biases that influence how such crimes are reported and prosecuted (or not). It’s important to discuss the disgusting narrative of white privilege here. According to proponents of this racist trope, white skin is synonymous with absolute advantage. But try telling this to the grooming victims and their families.
Imagine if the roles were reversed. Imagine if these groomers were predominantly white men preying on girls from minority backgrounds. Would the response from the media and public discourse be very different? One needn’t possess more than a few functioning neurons to answer this question with a high degree of certainty. Media coverage on the left would likely be far more intense, with headlines focusing on racial and cultural implications. The issue would be framed as an absolutely awful example of systemic racism and a broader social injustice. The public outcry would be significant, and political figures would likely be pressured to take more decisive, even radical, actions.
Yet, when the situation involves non-white perpetrators targeting white victims, the reaction is nothing but shameful silence. Call me a crazy conspiracist, but it’s almost as if there’s an unspoken reluctance to confront uncomfortable truths when they involve certain racial dynamics. It seems the fear of being labeled as Islamophobic or racist is deterring many from addressing the issue directly, even though the victims are real and their suffering is unbearable. While it might be painful for the average Guardian reader to digest, all victims, including those who are white, deserve justice—especially vulnerable young girls who are having their bodies violated and innocence stolen. British society must confront the issue of child grooming head-on. Safeguarding children must transcend all biases and divisions. This will require bravery. Sadly, Britain lost its backbone many years ago.
