A passenger plane plummeted and crashed in Brazil's Sao Paulo state on Friday. The incident was caught on video. The plane can be seen spiraling as it fell from the sky towards the ground. The video then shows a cloud of black smoke forming from the location it crashed. Local firefighters confirmed there were no survivors on board.

58 passengers and 4 crew members were aboard the aircraft, per Daily Mail. The plane was on its way from Cascavel to Guarulhos according to local outlets. While local authorities confirmed the plane crashed in the city of Vinhedo, they have not provided any further details. Brazil's Civil Defense has reported the plan hit several residential houses and Sao Paulo federal police have stated that one resident in the area was injured due to the crash.

Another video captured by a passerby shows the site of the crash. The area is enveloped in flames and the wreckage from the plane can be seen.

The airline, VOEPASS, provided a statement: "VOEPASS has activated all means to support those involved. There is still no confirmation of how the accident occurred or the current situation of the people on board."

According to the National Civil Aviation Agency (Anac), the plane was a ATR-72-500 turboprop with 68 seats and was manufactured by ATR, a large French aviation manufacturer.

Lula posted in a statement to X: "I would like everyone to stand up so that we can observe a minute of silence because a plane has just crashed in the city of Vinhedo, in São Paulo, with 58 passengers and 4 crew members and it appears they all died."
