“At last,” we could hear them saying to themselves, “the old, white male specter who embodies the past four years is gone. We have an exciting new diverse face at the top of the ticket who can string together complete sentences and who we don’t have to hide in the basement! And look at TikTok and Twitter! They love her! Blue wave incoming!”
There’s just one problem they forgot to consider: their own supporters, who cannot ever shut up about their true intentions or their true selves. Which is why, just three days after Kamala’s surprise elevation, her honeymoon is about to come to a crashing halt thanks not to the Right, but to her own base: a base which Kamala herself emphatically agrees with.
Because yesterday, Bibi Netanyahu spoke on Capitol Hill. And while his speech was gracious -- not to mention it spent a lot more time praising President Trump than President Biden – the reception to his presence was…not. Even before Netanyahu’s speech, members of the so-called “Squad” were out in force inserting their feet in their mouths. According to Rashida Tlaib, Netanyahu is “a war criminal committing genocide against the Palestinian people.” According to Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Netanyahu is “an authoritarian with warrant requests from the International Criminal Court.” This is, of course, standard stuff for the Squad, but what is surprising is that Harris herself got into the act – not rhetorically, but physically – by boycotting Netanyahu’s address and instead choosing to address a sorority. You know, like in college.
However, all of this might have been easy to paper over, had it not been for the protesters themselves. As early as Wednesday morning, video emerged of protesters screaming through the security perimeter at Netanyahu’s hotel.
“Jewish motherf**kers,” snarled one protester. “We’re gonna kill all of you. We’re gonna burn you.” He later devolved into shrieking, “Hamas! Allahu Akbar!”
Where is the media outrage for this clear extremism? Nowhere. Because they want that guy to vote for Kamala Harris.
The situation devolved as Netanyahu’s motorcade proceeded through DC, as protesters shouted, “Shame on you! Shame! Baby killer!” Ironically, at the same time they tried to attack Netanyahu as a killer, signs could be spotted among the crowd bearing messages like “Allah is gathering the Zionists for the ‘final solution.’”
Where are the pieces pointing out the evil of this clear reference to the Holocaust? Nowhere. Because the people who’d write them hope to earn these votes for Kamala Harris.
To crown all, as Netanyahu’s speech was already in progress, the Capitol Police issued an ominous series of tweets about the ongoing protests. “Part of the crowd has started to become violent at First Street and Constitution Ave, NW,” the Capitol Police warned. “The crowd failed to obey our order to move back from our police line. We are deploying pepper spray towards anyone trying to break the law and cross that line.”
Where is the outrage over what we’ve been told for over three years is an “insurrection?” Nowhere, because the regime needs these insurrectionists’ support for its latest puppet.
And lest anyone be fooled that this is solely about Israel, let’s be clear: the protesters tore down an American flag, burned it, and replaced it with the Palestinian flag. In other words, they hate America no less than they hate Israel. Given the chance, they’d probably happily turn America into “Turtle Island.” But Israel’s an easier target than the most powerful nation on earth, so they’re starting there.
And where are the concerns about foreign influence over a violent mass movement in our nation’s capital? Nowhere. Because again, the deep state needs these people to cling onto its power.
This would be bad enough if it were merely cynical, but the fact is, it isn’t. Kamala Harris herself agrees with these people. Just over two weeks ago, Harris said that the Hamas protesters were “showing exactly what the human emotion should be.” The liberal website Vox ecstatically cooed over Harris that she “might not follow Biden’s lead in giving the Israeli leader a ‘bear hug.’” In March of this year, she delivered the most vicious speech toward Israel yet to come out of the Biden White House. And as for supporting the protesters? Her own stepdaughter is one.
And the really disturbing part? All of those deeply disturbing facts might have been memory holed, had it not been for this week’s protests. Because even if the pro-Harris media might want to ignore them, the footage is still out there. Just as the establishment was warming up to give Kamala Harris a tongue bath that would make Barack Obama envious, the true face of her supporters, her party, and of Kamala’s own convictions reared up and showed itself to the world. Their hatred for Netanyahu was such that they couldn’t contain themselves, and now there will be hours of footage demonstrating who they are, and why Americans decided they didn’t want to vote for their party in the first place: because they feared empowering people like these protesters. In this context, swapping out Biden for Kamala and her terror-sympathizing bona fides suddenly looks less like an upgrade than like a swan dive out of the frying pan and into the fire.
Every Democrat on the planet should’ve seen this coming. In fact, maybe they did see this coming; if nothing else, it would explain why they were so reluctant to swap out Biden. Cannier Democratic operatives might have realized that the fact that TikTok loves Kamala Harris isn’t a good thing, because TikTok also loves Hamas and Osama bin Laden. They might have considered the fact that Joe Biden, for all his senility, at least remembered how to speak to people outside California. They might have permitted real competition at their convention, leading to a genuinely difficult to beat nominee, rather than simply jumping to support a woman whose worldview and public image can best be described as “we have Barack Obama at home.” But they didn’t. They’ve made their bed and now they must lie in it. The “Harris honeymoon” can’t compete with the violent, bigoted eyesore that is the Democratic base. They just revealed that. They will likely go on revealing it as the election draws close, first at the DNC, and then on college campuses all over the country when school gets back in session. They can’t help telling Americans who they are. It will now be Donald Trump’s job to see that America believes them.
