A trans-identified biological male is under investigation by Norweigan authorities for the murder of his trans-identified biological female partner.

The 19-year-old suspect, who authorities have not yet publicly identified, has been accused of brutally murdering their partner, Oliver Ravn Ronning, 22, with a baseball bat on Nov. 27, 2023. Ronning is a female who identifies as a male, while the suspect is a male who identifies as female, Reduxx reports.

The suspect has a violent criminal history and has been charged with multiple counts of domestic violence against Ronning before the brutal killing. On Oct. 12, just one month before Ronning's murder, the suspect was arrested for allegedly choking Ronning and pounding their head into the floor. Police had labeled the suspect a "medium risk" for reoffence at that time, per the outlet.

On Oct. 31, the suspect was arrested again for the same violent crime, in which authorities reclassified the suspect as having a "high risk of violence."

The transgender suspect, according to Kragerø Blad, "began to dress in girls’ clothes" during their high school years. People who know the suspect described them as someone who "could become enraged over little things."

Redduxx reportedly obtained the identity of the suspect through an anonymous tipster and revealed that it appears the suspect, who the outlet did not identify, began identifying as transgender in mid-2022. During that time, the suspect posted their first photo on Instagram wearing women's clothing and sporting long hair. The suspect stated in their Instagram bio that they use "they/them" pronouns.

The killer's photographs indicate that he led a seemingly ordinary existence and maintained a close relationship with his extended family, per the outlet. Norwegian mainstream news networks profiled his grandmother, whom he appears to have lived with for a period, during the 2021 election cycle. She is referred to as the "cat lady" in her small community.

During early reports, Norweigan media referred to the killer and victim as their biological sexes but later changed their gender identities as the case progressed.

The killer will be headed to trial on June 17.
