Israel's Energy Minister Israel Katz is reportedly intending to cut power to the Gaza Strip after a brutal Hamas attack overnight. Hundreds were killed or wounded in the attacks, and more than 2,000 rockets were launched at Israel by Hamas.

Israeli News reports that the minister signed an order "instructing the Israel Electric Corporation to halt the supply of electricity to the Gaza Strip."

This could be a "punitive measure," as TRT World reports, while others on social media said that this could indicate that Israel is intending to launch a brutal counterattack.

Israel has already taken aim at structures in Gaza. Reports from Palestinian media, as reported by the Times of Israel, said that "the Israeli Air Force bombed the home of Yahya Sinwar, the head of the Hamas terror group in the Gaza Strip." The Times of Israel could not independently confirm that, however.

The Palestine Tower was destroyed by the Israeli Defense Forces. The 14-story building was bombed and crumbled to the ground. There were 100 apartments in the building, but it also contained Hamas offices, reports TRT World. The building had been a site targeted by the IDF in the past.

Prior to the bombing, the IDF contacted residents and told them to evacuate.

The attack has been roundly condemned by world leaders and American officials, including former President Donald Trump, who famously enacted the bilateral agreements of the Abraham Accords in the Middle East, bringing about more goodwill and peace than the region had seen in decades.

This is a breaking story and will be updated.
