CHARLIE KIRK and DON JR: President Trump’s mugshot 'could go down as one of the most iconic photographs in the history of America'

"The people who have been the true friends are actually the real American patriots."

Charlie Kirk had Donald Trump Jr. on his show Friday to unpack the chaos that had happened in the past 24 hrs, with President Donald Trump being booked in Fulton County Jail and his mugshot released.

Don Jr. began by giving his initial raw reaction to the mugshot, “I think it could go down as one of the most iconic photographs in the history of America.”

He shared that DA Fani Willis did herself a “major disservice” by having the former president take a mugshot in the first place and then release it. While she meant it to be “vindictive,” Don Jr. noted that it would probably backfire and become an iconic photo to Trump supporters.

Kirk, speaking of the strengthening resolve of Trump and the Trump family, spoke of the moment eight years ago of “went down the elevator before your father went down the escalator, he turned to you and he was said, ‘We're gonna find out who our true friends are,’: referring to Trump. Kirk adds that the family still has not given in despite them “throwing everything they possibly can” at them, and does not show signs of breaking.

“I mean, we did find out who the real friends were, a lot of surprises in there. But the reality is, the people who have been the true friends are actually the real American patriots because they understand that if they can do this to Trump, they can do it to anyone,” Don Jr. responded.

He pointed out that, for the most part, when an individual is indicted, they typically do not go up in the polls. That is not the case for Trump because of the ridiculousness and theatrics of the situation from the left, Don Jr. noting, “Everyone's waking up to it, even those that have been sort of politically agnostic and sitting on the sidelines. So you know, we have a country to fix. And there's only one guy that's going to actually do that.”

Kirk then brought up the Republican debate in Milwaukee from Wednesday night. Apparently, the former president’s son was supposed to have the opportunity to speak to the media about the Trump-favoring polls.

“Yeah, I was blocked by security at the venue. They said the executives at Fox News said I couldn't go into the spin room… I get that they're airing it. But it's also it's a Republican National Committee debate and my father is leading by about 60 points,” Don Jr. responds.

He then gave his opinions about Governor Ron DeSantis’ performance at the debate, one which proved disappointing to Fox News and most Republicans who thought he had a fair shot.

Don Jr. quipped, “There's a personality that was created online by influencers. They take a five-second clip of Ron DeSantis, and they say, ‘Oh, he's dunking on these guys,’ but once you see him for a minute, two minutes, three minutes, you realize there is actually no personality there.”

Charlie brought up the fact that Donald Trump has claimed he will not do any debates on Truth Social and pressed Don Jr. about the reasoning behind Trump rejoining Twitter after 2.5 years and posting his mugshot there.

Don Jr. explained that Trump will still primarily give social media updates via Truth Social but that the mugshot “could be literally perhaps the most iconic photograph in the history of America for good, bad or indifferent… There's platforms that hate my guts, I'm still on some of them.”

Kirk focused back to Governor DeSantis and remarks that after an abysmal campaign, “he would gain a lot of respect in me if he dropped out and spent his $110 million to help get Donald J. Trump elected.

Don Jr. completely agreed.

He expands, “What would have been smart for him to do initially was say, ‘Hey, I'm going to be the campaign chairman, I'm going to vote for you. I'm gonna go around, I'm gonna build up my national presence, I'm gonna help you fundraise.’ And he'd be a shoo-in.”

Don Jr., concluded by saying that the biggest way the audience could help is “to be involved… become a poll watcher, especially if you're willing to actually be aggressive enough to call out the nonsense to spot it… run for your school board… Don't be bullied into a corner into submission and into silence. We got to start talking.”
