Head of the Wagner Group, Yevgeny Prighozin, was reportedly listed as a passenger on a jet that crashed north of Moscow on Wednesday.

According to state newswire RIA Novosti, the Ministry of Emergency Situations said, "There were ten people on board, including three crew members. According to preliminary information, all on board were killed."

The department said that the plane was flying from Moscow to St. Petersburg, with the crash occurring near the village of Kuzhenkino.

The Federal Air Transport Agency said that they have begun investigating the crash, and stated that Yevgeny Prigozhin’s name appeared on the list of passengers.

Reports from the BBC and Daily Mail state that Prighozin is dead.

Wagner-linked Telegram channels reportedly claim that Russia's air defense "shot down the plane."

Prighozin led the Wagner Group on a failed coup attempt toward Moscow in June, with Russia later dropping charges against the leader and exiled him to Belarus.

This is a breaking story and will be updated.
