CRINGE WHITMER: Michigan governor makes mockery of leadership with 'Barbie' photoshoot at Lansing Capitol

"Come on Barbie, let's go govern."

"Come on Barbie, let's go govern."

In celebration of the Barbie movie released this week, Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer posted a cringeworthy Barbie photoshoot to her Instagram on Thursday.

The seven-post series starts with a Barbie toy dressed in a fuchsia suit on the lawn of the Michigan State Capital in Lansing, holding the state flag. The caption reads, "Come on Barbie, let's go govern."

"This Barbie is the 49th Governor of the great state of Michigan, and just like @barbie, fuchsia is my power color. 💗 I'm committed to fighting for a state where every Michigander, no matter their background, can thrive," the post reads.

What Governor "Barbie" Whitmer means by "govern" is passing a law that would make it a felony to use the wrong pronouns for a person, if they feel intimidated or threatened by it, by adding gender identity to the protected classes against whom hate crimes can be committed. HB 447 passed the State House last month and is expected to pass the Senate and be signed into law.

In a second post, the Whitmer Barbie is in her office with a caption that says, "Making it in the real world can be tough. That's why I'm taking action to help even more Michiganders make it in Michigan. We’re investing in every corner of our state and creating opportunities, so every Barbie (and Ken!) can live their dream life."

She wants to help Michiganders by preventing the state's flat-rate income tax from dropping from 4.25 percent to 4.05 percent as expected to do later this year. According to The Detroit News, The governor is attempting to distribute $180 in rebate checks to residents to circumvent the rate drop as dictated in a 2015 law.

The last post from Governor Whitmer was made on Friday where she stated, "Together, we work to create spaces and structures that empower women to show up as they are and allow them to lead from the front."

Being the champion of women that she is, Whitmer has often taken the time to use language that empowers all adult human females. Like, when she referred to them as "menstruating people" when discussing the overturning of Roe v. Wade.

"I have the constitutional ability to bring a lawsuit to protect the constitutional rights of the people of Michigan. So, I brought a lawsuit on behalf of all the menstruating people in Michigan, 2.2 million. And another tool I have is to go straight to our state Supreme Court,” she said.

Just as cringeworthy as this photo shoot was, it seems the Barbie movie itself is just as bad. Blaze TV host and TPUSA contributor Lauren Chen reviewed the film on Twitter, saying "The Barbie movie literally has Ken try to bring the Patriarchy (explicitly called the Patriarchy) to Barbie Land & amend the Barbie Land Constitution to remove Barbies from positions of power," she said.

"The lengths the studio went to hide how INSUFFERABLY WOKE this movie is are astounding," Chen added.
