A 36-year-old man was apparently killed after three 15-year-old kids allegedly attacked him over a debacle concerning the man’s dog in Nuneaton, Warwickshire. The Daily Mail reported that the man was attacked after he did not pick up a mess the dog made, or after he threw a stick for his dog that accidentally hit one of the female teens.
John Hackett was reportedly "choke slammed" and subsequently punched and kicked by the band of schoolchildren. Members of the local community claimed that the debacle was posted to social media, but it was quickly removed.
Two 15-year-old boys and one 15-year-old girl were arrested for suspicion of murder. They continue to remain in police custody, according to The Sun. The report noted that a female neighbor said that two girls had shouted at Hackett before "it all kicked off" in Snow Hill Recreation Ground Tuesday night.
A local bar worker, who apparently watched the video footage, said that it was "disgusting," adding that the "poor bloke didn’t deserve that."
Hackett is believed to have been a caretaker to his mother. The 36-year-old was reportedly found dead in bed the morning after the attack, suggesting that the man did not die immediately following the assault.
A mother, in describing the contents of the video of the assault, said: "Two lads kept punching and kicking him. One had taken him down in a ‘choke slam’ and kept his arm round his neck as he was lying on the ground. The other one was punching him in the head and kicking him in the side."
"The girls and some other lads were crowding round while he took a beating. There were about eight of them. They kept punching him and kicking him. It was brutal, it was very disgusting. The video lasted about a minute."
"The rumour going round is that it was all over a bit of dog mess not being binned. Someone else said the man had thrown a stick for his dog and it had hit one of the girls."
