Human Events Daily host Jack Posobiec expounded on the new information that has been provided surrounding the Uvalde, Texas shooting wherein a lone gunman killed 19 children and two teachers.

Posobiec specifically expressed disbelief over the perceived cowardice shown by police on the scene, who stood by for 40 minutes as the shooting continued. It later became clear that the officers were told to stand down and wait for a tactical team, yet parents were trying to storm the school.

"I never thought that I would see a group of armed Texans, and I don't mean this as a putdown, I'm just so confused. But Texans with a schoolhouse that has a gunman inside, who's killing children, and a group of Texans with long guns aren't going in to stop him," said Posobiec.

Yesterday, it was revealed by Texas Dept. of Public Safety Regional Director Victor Escalon that there was not a school resource officer on location, and that officers were evacuating students instead of engaging the shooter, despite the pleas of parents on the scene who begged officers to save their children.

Parents say that they arrived at the scene of the school while police were still standing outside of the building, with one witness who lost a daughter saying that bystanders nearly organized to rush in the building all at once because law enforcement was "unprepared."

The shooter was eventually stopped by an off-duty border patrol agent who was armed with his barber's shotgun.

"I don't quite understand what all the implications of this are," Posobiec continued. "We talked about societal downfall and the decline of spirit in our world today and our society, and we've talked about the decline in values but what it really comes down to it, you see a situation like this, the only way I can describe it is pure horror. Absolute horror. The instant psychological horror for the rest of their lives for their parents. I mean clearly, these people are not going to be police officers much longer, that's number one and that's just a fact of things. That's just fact.

Posobiec speculated that those who were on the scene and did not act accordingly may face charges, and that political leaders of Uvalde need to resign and "beg for forgiveness for every single parent" that's there.

"Number two, they may potentially see some form of prosecution, of course, they'll have to go through and see what the local regulations were there. But every single leader on the political side, every political leader of Uvalde needs to resign. You needed to resign yesterday, you need to resign immediately and beg for forgiveness for every single parent that's there. That's what would be done in a serious country. We need to become a serious country again. We need to go back, we need to restore our values, we need to restore our society, and these Texan men, when there's a school under attack, you gotta do the right thing."

The motive for the massacre still remains unknown and is under investigation, with authorities saying that Ramos had no known mental health history or criminal history.

Texas Department of Public Safety Director Steve McCraw said that over 40 minutes past before the shooter began shooting at a school security officer.

"The bottom line is law enforcement was there," McCraw said. "They did engage immediately. They did contain him in the classroom."

A timeline, however, still remains unclear. "Right now we do not have an accurate or confident timeline to provide to say the gunman was in the school for this period," Lt. Christopher Olivarez told CNN.
