Will Roe vs. Wade Decision Cost the GOP This November and Usher in “American Fascism?”

For some conservatives, last week’s leak of a Supreme Court draft majority decision that is set to undo the status quo for the practice of abortion in America was a monumental moment almost a half a century in the making.

For liberals, the revelation was a much-needed shot in the arm for a party that uses anger and the appearance of oppression as a rallying point to drive scores of voters to the polls every election.

All of a sudden, a midterm election that seemed poised to be a Democrat thrashing by a GOP that can’t possibly do worse than the left has under Biden is in serious doubt, as the left tries their best to get women, who are far more than just their gender, to “vote with their uterus” instead of with their wallet.

This message is already gaining steam with the usual culprits, as the ladies from ABC TV’s “The View” have already opined that the possible overturning of Roe vs. Wade will supposedly user in a new era of fascism in America.

As ridiculous as that sounds, it may not actually be that far off, but not for the reasons that Joy Behar thinks. First off for full disclosure, I agree that Roe vs. Wade should be overturned. The practice of abortion on demand, regardless of circumstance, is barbaric and has no place in a civilized society. Unfortunately, however, the practice has been normalized and for many Americans, particularly women, the idea of losing the option to terminate a pregnancy may lead some to overlook the multitude of issues where the Biden administration has been failing, like the economy, foreign policy, and let us never forget the botched Afghanistan pullout.

Should the election go to the left, they of the new Disinformation Governance Board, may finally get to institute the kind of “fundamental transformation” that a young Barack Obama could only have dreamed of back when he was a Junior Senator from the politically corrupt State of Illinois. What will be the new limits to free speech and privacy in an increasingly digitized society where every keystroke can potentially be recorded?

But despite my disdain for abortion, like so many other issues on the political spectrum, in order to maintain the natural order of things, there must be caveats.

I believe that in certain circumstances, a woman should have the right to not bring a pregnancy to full term. These circumstances are limited to instances of pregnancies that were a product of rape or incest, or the rare situation in which the life or long-term health prospects of the mother are in question. That’s it.

Although that may sound reasonable enough, don’t tell that to leadership at Planned Parenthood, the national juggernaut that literally stays afloat based on its contribution to the ongoing genocide of the black community via strategically placed locations. In fact, one Planned Parenthood CEO, Darrah Johnson, who oversees Planned Parenthood of the Pacific Southwest, still refuses to see the constitutional argument for “personhood.” In response to the leaked opinion, Johnson stated, "It's not unexpected, and the work that's been going on from the anti-abortion movement, from people who oppose a person's right to make a decision for their own body has been decades in the making."

Johnson’s comments ignore the horrors of what has been done to the bodies of the millions of unfortunate victims of abortion, and the way their body parts are sold off for medical research.

The potential implications for this election obviously didn’t weigh on the Justices tasked with the responsibility of making a generational decision on a matter that means so much to society. Their job is not to strategize politically. They are there to interpret and articulate the law solely and deserve credit for getting this decision right, regardless of its implications this November.
