On the Sidewalks of New York is a weekly feature at Human Events wherein Jacqueline Toboroff, a native New Yorker, will share her observations and candid commentary on the goings-on in our nation’s largest city.  Wherever you live, and whatever you feel, there is no escaping the fact that New York City matters.

Biden’s Supreme Court Justice nominee had to be two things: black and female.  His pick, Ketanji Brown Jackson, when asked by Senator Blackburn if “she can provide a definition of the word ‘woman’?” replied, “No, I can’t.”

The signal, not noise, is twofold.

First, the attack on women is really an attack on the nuclear family and ultimately, procreation. Deconstructing gender roles purposefully complicates meeting and mating. Second, the attack on women is a cash cow.  Big pharma, therapists, endless operations, plastic surgeons, fertility experts, education indoctrination by way of new studies and classes, and “teachers” will be necessary. Created is a bottomless well of profiteers demanding taxpayer money to fund the side effects of men now being women.

Here’s a sliver of an illustration of what that landscape looks like.  Manhattan’s Grace Church School says using words like “boys'', “girls”, “mom”, and “dad”  should “be avoided in a push to make the campus more inclusive.” Apparently, those definitions are “hateful language that promotes racism, misogyny, homophobia, and other forms of discrimination.” “‘Mom’ and ‘dad’” should be replaced with words like "’grown-ups’, ‘folks’, or ‘family.’"

New York City parents receive endless school emails with similarly incontinent contradictory messaging. On one hand, we’re celebrating Women’s History Month and on the other hand, we’re getting rid of women’s bathrooms in unisex all girls’ schools in order to make them gender neutral.

Manhattan elite private schools like Grace Church School are feeders to schools like Harvard, Brown Jackson’s university.  Early education institutions pave the way for radical notions, like the ones Brown Jackson champions, to become conventional.  And under the Biden administration one party Democrat rule enclaves like New York City, the plan to erase women, from athletes to mothers, has gone into overdrive.

The intelligentsia tell us men can be mothers - that they can menstruate, breastfeed, and even carry babies.

Brown Jackson, chosen specifically because of her sex, repudiates what even a five-year-old with a Barbie doll understands about gender. One questions whether she should have even secured the nomination under Biden’s egregious prerequisites since she herself rejects one of the two.

The job of a Supreme Court Justice is to interpret the Constitution.  How can Brown Jackson interpret the Constitution if she can’t even comprehend what a woman is? The duty of the president is to nominate a highly qualified person. The role of Congress is to question and cross examine the candidate and record. Suddenly, because she’s black and a woman, scrutinizing nominee Brown Jackson is racist and misogynistic.

We’re on the precipice of no return. Should Brown Jackson become Supreme Court Justice, we’ll have on the bench a woman for potentially thirty to forty years literally unable to define “woman.” If she can’t define something so unequivocal, how can she define anything?

It appears Brown Jackson can’t. When questioned by Senator Cruz on her injection of Critical Race Theory into her sentencing record, Brown Jackson obfuscates. Yet, she sits on the school board for Georgetown Day School which assigns and encourages books to its young students like “Critical Race Theory: An Introduction. ” Brown Jackson said in the school’s magazine, she “witnessed the transformative power of rigorous progressive education that is dedicated to fostering critical thinking, independence, and social justice.”  Another book assigned or suggested at Georgetown Day School is, “The End of Policing.” Imagine a proponent of this radical notion, which has shattered blue cities and states that defunded police, determining a sentence. Brown Jackson’s application of Critical Race theory is a fact.  Yet, like when pressed to define the word ‘woman”, repels.

This is substantial because Critical Race Theory acolytes believe the Constitution is racist and must be ignored as it was created by white men. Critical Race Theory also looks to erase women because they’re viewed through the scope of a traditional lens as child bearers, and traditions are racist.

Perhaps Brown Jackson’s inability to define “woman” has directly impacted her astoundingly low sentences on sex offenders, 80-90% of which are men. She gave defendants 47.2% less of a sentence than prosecutors recommended. One example is Neil Stewart, who tried to cross state lines to RAPE A NINE-YEAR-OLD GIRL and amassed 6,700 images of child porn; he was given half the recommended sentence.

Seemingly, Brown Jackson is a woman with an extensive record of sympathy for sex offenders and pedophiles.  It might be okay in her lifestyle, but it’s not something that should become mainstream.  It will be the ultimate destruction of children and might even dissuade “birthing people” from having children..

The overwhelming majority of sex offenders are men; gender does play a role. Women carry babies and are usually maternal - carrying a baby in our wombs for nine months might be the reason why! Perhaps women, 86% of which over the age of forty ARE MOTHERS, feel an overwhelming and innate need to protect children. The expression is “mamma bear” for a reason - it’s natural, it’s animalistic, wired into our DNA.

And at a time when moms are labeled “domestic terrorists”, one can’t help but notice there seems to be a correlated effort to take down women, parents, and children.
