LIBBY EMMONS: This is not what democracy looks like

It's fascinating how the party that claims to be running to save democracy keeps abandoning democracy at every turn. The party that claims they know what democracy looks like has undertaken the most undemocratic presidential nomation process in the history of the United States.

They pulled Joe Biden from the ticket and claimed it was for democracy, but really it was because they didn't think he could win and winning is what the Dems really want most of all. Everything they've done since the disastrous June 27 debate against Trump, not to mention since the beginning of the Biden era, has not been for democracy, but for power. They'll tell you that Dems maintaining power is precisely for the good of the American people, but that's because they're so delusional, they believe that only their prescription can work for America. Just what that is, as Harris' comments boosting equity "where everyone ends up in the same place" indicate, should be terrifying to everyone.

Dems will be working hard to make sure the truth never gets out. And while they press on to "save democracy," they seek to corrupt it in every way possible. They tell us our natural, God-given rights are "not absolute," (Joe Biden), they disrupt definitions to make it impossible to speak truth (calling men women), and they lie so frequently and so convincingly that their falsehoods are unquestioned (calling Trump Hitler).

Democrats have done such a good job of painting conservatives as evil, hateful racists that when they say things like Republicans think women should stay home and obey their husbands (cue commentary on JD Vance), or conservatives are Nazis, or Trump will put us all in camps, they are believed. They have already set up the conditions under which those lies will be believed by constituents. Kamala being the people's choice is another one of these lies and it's perhaps the most insidious one of all because it's under the guise of saving democracy that they are destroying it altogether.

Even Black Lives Matter pointed out that this process is in no way democratic and that it is a disenfranchisement of American voters. "Kamala was selected, not elected," they said.

Democrats are working hard to get Kamala Harris nominated before their convention despite her not having received even a single, solitary vote from any American voter anywhere in the nation. Dems are fortifying their big names around her, like the Obamas, the Hollywood set, top lawmakers, in an effort to make it impossible for a contender to launch a challenge. They're siphoning the funds donated by voters to the Biden campaign over to the Kamala side even though campaign finance law says all those funds should go straight back to donors if they're not going to be used as they were intended. And what's most horrifying is that they believe they're doing it all in the name of democracy—and they're getting voters to believe it too.

Top Dems like Chuck Schumer and Hakeem Jeffries, both from the New York delegation, have assured us that Kamala's ascension came from the "grassroots." They claimed in a joint presser, giggling like school girls, that Kamala had "earned" this predetermined nomination. In a fit of seeming madness, the duo cited her "tremendous record." This just as Dems worked to distance her from how bad her record is, namely how poorly her work to deal with the border and illegal immigration has been. They insist that she was never even tasked to do that! She was, in March 2021, by her boss, Joe Biden.

"Vice President Harris has earned the nomination from the grassroots up and not the top down," Jeffries said, in an effort to rewrite recent history in which Harris was installed literally from the top down. How can her candidacy be grassroots if she's received no votes? How can it be from the bottom up if her campaign was launched by the President from the Oval Office?

They are installing Kamala Harris as the presidential candidate and trying to make sure that's sealed up before the convention, even though Harris has not gotten a single vote. The only process they used to get Kamala to this point is that of back room deals. Not a single American has voted for Harris—not one. Yet she and her party think that she can just slide into Biden's spot, on the top of the ticket, with donors, in scheduled debates, and all the way to the Oval Office—and they're going to use every undemocratic tool they can find to do it.
