Arizona Rep. Andy Biggs sent a letter Thursday to the Department of Health and Human Service and the FDA demanding answers on why they needed 75 years to answer FOIA requests for Pfizer vaccine data.

“The lack of transparency from the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) and the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) surrounding the information that was relied on to license the COVID-19 vaccines is astonishing,” the  letter reads. “I urge you to commit significant departmental resources to ensure that the American public has full access to all information that FDA regulators relied upon in approving the COVID-19 vaccines.”

In the letter, Biggs argued that the American public deserves full access to the information FDA regulators relied on to approve the vaccines, the Daily Caller reports. Biggs mentioned the nonprofit Public Health and Medical Professionals for Transparency, which submitted a FOIA request to the FDA requesting all data contained within Pfizer’s COVID-19 vaccine file.

Biggs also mentioned the FDA’s response to a Joint Status Report in a federal district court in Texas about that same FOIA request. The FDA proposed to the court that it process 500 pages per month and said it would produce 12,000 pages by January of 2022. Biggs said the FOIA request would not be complete for 75 years at the speed they’re moving, as there are almost 330,000 pages that could be responsive to the request.

“In order to address these concerns, please provide an immediate response outlining the steps HHS and FDA are taking to address the backlog of FOIA requests at FDA pertaining to COVID-19 vaccines,” the letter concluded.

“It’s an absolute ridiculous claim to need 75 years to process FOIA requests on a vaccine that Biden and the Far Left are working overtime to mandate on the American people,” Biggs told the Daily Caller. “We deserve complete transparency surrounding these vaccines. But, once again, the Biden administration is demonstrating the complete ineptitude of federal bureaucracy and why it has no place in dictating the private healthcare decisions of the American people.”
