At least 12 U.S. Marines and soldiers and 60 Afghans were killed in the suicide bombing outside the Abbey Gate at Kabul’s airport in Afghanistan Thursday, and at least 140 have been injured.
Sources say a second explosion happened outside the Baron Hotel.
There are also reports by Afghan local media of a third explosion near the Kabul airport.
These mark the first US. military combat fatalities in Afghanistan since February of 2020, when the Trump administration and the Taliban signed an agreement on American troop withdrawal in Doha, Qatar, the Wall Street Journal reports.
