Rep. Crenshaw shared a brilliant exchange with House Democratic Caucus Chairman Hakeem Jeffries on Monday, using only five words.

The exchange began when Jeffries blasted republicans for their efforts to make elections free, fair and honest once again.

“The Civil War ended in 1865 and the racists lost,” Jeffries tweeted. “Get over it.”

Rep. Crenshaw fired back with a blunt reminder, as reported by the Daily Wire.

“You’re right,” he tweeted, “the Democrats lost.”

Crenshaw also added some evidence to back up his statement.

Jeffries is no stranger to blasting republicans for their election integrity efforts.

Appearing on Spectrum News, Jeffries called out the republican party for “voter suppression.”

“The republican party has adopted voter suppression as an electoral strategy,” he said, “which is a shame because the modern history here in America post the enactment of the Voting Rights Act of 1965 has largely been - this was a settled question. The right to vote was a sacred thing, an important part of our democracy.”
