The investigation against scandal-ridden New York Governor Andrew Cuomo is ramping up after one of his accusers met Monday with investigators from the state attorney general’s office for a lengthy interview.
And, the new details are a little bit bizarre.
During the four-hour Zoom interview, Charlotte Bennett dove into new details about Cuomo’s alleged inappropriate behavior, which she said fostered a “sexually hostile work environment” in both his Manhattan and Albany offices.
Bennett provided investigators with over 120 pages of “contemporaneous records” to corroborate her accusations, along with other relevant documents, according to her lawyer, Debra Katz.
Some shocking new information came out during the interview: Cuomo had an oddly suggestive obsession with his hand size.
“One piece of new information that came to light today was the Governor’s preoccupation with his hand size and what the large size of his hands indicated to Charlotte and other members of his staff,” Katz said in a statement.
“The investigators have been moving quickly, and with sensitivity, to get to the heart of these allegations,” Katz added. “We remain confident that their investigation will substantiate Charlotte’s claims of sexual harassment against Gov. Cuomo, as well as the failure of his senior staff to meet their mandatory reporting requirements under the very laws he signed.”
Bennett is one of six women who have accused Cuomo of harassment. She said that the governor asked her extremely personal questions about her romantic life, whether she was interested in older men and discussed her past sexual assault with her in an uncomfortable manner. She believed Cuomo was grooming her.
