This Classless Trio is a Threat to Women in Politics.

It was just a few months ago that the most-anticipated Congressional class in U.S. history was sworn into office.

Lauded as the largest class of women ever elected to Congress – and also the most diverse – the expectations were high for the world to witness women’s leadership in action.

However, this class of women has done enough damage in their first 100 days to make Elizabeth Cady Stanton and Abigail Adams turn over in their graves.

Not since Congress members spat tobacco juice on one another and caned a fellow member on the Senate floor have we seen behavior so unbefitting members of Congress. (At least back in their day, they were fighting for a noble cause: the abolition of slavery.)

As women, we expect better of our leaders that hate-filled tropes and falsehoods.

The oh-so-hailed freshman class of the Democratic Party has brought us, in the form of Rep. Ilhan Omar, the most openly anti-Semitic furor since Adolph Hitler walked the earth. She has made no secret of her disdain for the people of Israel and those of the Jewish faith, while benefitting from the support of left-wing organizations such as the Council on American-Islamic Relations.

One of the poster girls of the freshman class, Omar can’t even be bothered to get her history right. After crassly claiming that “some people did something” on 9/11, she erroneously stated that CAIR was established after 9/11 in response to hate crimes – a statement which Politifact rated, “False.” (It turns out, CAIR was founded in 1994.)

As women, we expect better of our representatives than hate-filled tropes and falsehoods.

Another Democratic representative of this historic class of women, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, has ushered in the idea of converting America into a socialist country. This should be surprising, especially in the U.S., given the blood and treasure spent to resist the ideology that has contributed to the deaths of 100 million people around the globe since its inception – including women and children.

Under Leninist/Communist regimes alone, 11 million people died from famine and political arrests, and another 3 million died from labor camps and Gulags. The list of deaths of our most vulnerable goes on and on in a Communist/Socialist ideology that the Wall Street Journal called “…the greatest catastrophe in human history.”

As women, we must protect women and children from murderous Socialist regimes. This seems the most basic of all rules.

Not only does the Democrats’ bartender-in-chief favor the evils of socialism, she also fancies herself as a bit of a Nobel Prize-winning environmental scientist.

In unveiling her Green New Deal, the freshman female legislator proposes to wipe out 100 years of American innovation and efficiency in motor vehicle and airline travel and return us to the horse-and-buggy era. Who knew she was also Amish?

In viral videos squatting on the floor of her barren apartment, the freshman legislator lectures the rest of us about how we should travel – even though her own campaign finance records show she declined to walk to her local subway stop a mere 100 feet away, as she opted for $30,000 in luxurious ride share trips instead.

When asked about the discrepancy between her words and her actions, Ocasio-Cortez claimed she was just “living in the world,” despite previously claiming the world was going to end in 12 years if we all didn’t change our habits immediately.

She's actively harming the hard fought for achievements of women in politics, and as a woman, I think it is imperative we reject this or risk that our words will not be taken seriously as leaders.

Another jolly figure this “historic” class of Congress women is Rep. Rashida Tlaib, whose first act on the eve of her swearing-in was to call the President of the United States a “motherf*cker.” So ladylike. The Detroit-based Tlaib misses it by about 8 miles.

In true sisterhood we should seek not to be counted for our sheer numbers in a body of government; rather, we should expect to earn our place in leadership and continue to earn our place through noble ideas, hard work, and patriotism.

This hurts the credibility of all women – regardless of party – who seek to run for office in the future.

In a letter to her husband President John Adams while he was in Philadelphia in 1776, women’s suffrage champion Abigail Adams wrote, “Remember the Ladies, and be more generous and favorable to them than your ancestors.”

It is clear that voters in the last election cycle were indeed more favorable to women than their ancestors.

Thus far, the results are disappointing.

In careening their own party off the far-left cliff of reason, the newly-sworn class of female Democratic Congress members have exhibited a lack of respect for the institutions that have made America great. Through their lack of decorum, lack of message discipline and their messy, emotional name-calling the women’s class has demonstrated that they are just as hysterical and out of control as their detractors suggested they might be. This hurts the credibility of all women – regardless of party – who seek to run for office in the future.

Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi undoubtedly has a mutiny on her hands, and she must now right the ship. Women can and must do better than the historic freshman class thus far in the 116th Congress – or else women in positions of power are going to be just that: history.
