Ding Dong, You’re Doomed


The Powerline website recently held a video contest, and awarded the top prize to “The Spending Is Nuts” by Justin Folk.  It’s a wonderfully conceived and animated lesson about how the power of redistribution leads inevitably to corruption:


However, one of the honorable-mention submissions went on to become a viral video sensation.  “Doorbell,” by Don Brookins, is short, simple, and incredibly powerful.  If I had been a Powerline judge, I would have been hard pressed to choose between Folk’s elegance and Brookins’ devastating kidney punch.
