Another Democrat Caught in Sexting Scandal

Do these people ever learn? Does the name Anthony Weiner ring any bells, or are these dopes so sexed up they can't think clearly? Whatever the case, another Democrat, this one a New Jersey freeholder, has been forced from office after lewd photos of him surfaced recently. Though typically, his first reaction was to claim he was the victim.

Poor guy.

It's Anthony Weiner, Jersey edition.

Garden State Democrat Louis Magazzu announced his resignation Tuesday after nude pictures he sent to a woman he had been corresponding with were posted on a Republican activist's website.

At least two of the photos showed the Cumberland County freeholder's crotch, two showed him dressed to the nines in a suit, and a fifth showed him waist up without a shirt.

The tawdry photos - taken in front of a mirror with a smartphone - are similar to those that led to Rep. Anthony Weiner (D-Queens-Brooklyn) to call it quits in June.

Magazzu, a 53-year-old lawyer who had been an elected county official for more than a decade, apologized to his friends, family and constituents in a statement, but indicated he had been set up.

"I did not know that she was working with an avowed political enemy to distribute these pictures," Magazzu said of the Chicago woman he corresponded with online with for several years but claims he never met. "I have retained counsel to determine what laws may have been broken by the unauthorized distribution of those pictures."

Um, Louis, you sent the photos, they're obviously of you and now you're the victim? This sounds eerily similar to Weiner's original lame defense that he'd been hacked and set up, an obvious lie his media and web enablers eagerly ran with and have never apologized for.

Magazzu has been separated from his wife for a couple of years now and is free to do as he pleases with his personal life. However, anyone with functioning brain matter should know by now that once you send out racy photos there's a good chance they'll come back to haunt you.

Whatever happened to modesty? Do these guys think it's hip and cool to be sending crotch photos around? Is there a woman out there who finds this appealing?

Magazzu also supposedly resigned quickly after being caught up in his mess, which isn't true.

Cumberland County Freeholder Director Bill Whelan had quietly asked fellow Democratic freeholder Lou Magazzu to resign last month after learning about the existence of nude pictures sent to an yet-to-be-identified woman that were recently made public.

Whelan on Tuesday called a press conference just a half-hour after Magazzu announced he was stepping down, where he described the issue as a “distraction” for both the public and the freeholders.

“Personally, I privately asked him to resign about three or four weeks ago,” said Whelan. “I told him it was behavior not expected of us as leaders in this county, and that he should step down.

Back in January Republican Congressman Christopher Lee resigned seemingly seconds after the online site Gawker published a photo of a topless Lee that had been posted to Craigslist, an offense that now appears innocuous in the wake of Weiner and now this boob. The GOP apparently has a different set of standards than those of Democrats. A Republican gets caught and resigns immediately. A Democrat is busted with his pants down and the first reaction is to play the victim.

Speaking of abhorrent behavior by Democrats, when is alleged rapist David Wu actually leaving office?
