Human Events is proud to announce that investigative journalist, Audrey Hudson, will be joining us as our new Congressional Correspondent.

According to Human Events editor Jason Mattera, “Audrey will be a fantastic addition to Human Events. She’s an experienced reporter with a knack for getting the story behind the story."

As Human Events' Congressional Correspondent, Audrey hopes to broaden Human Events' coverage of Congress.  "Human Events' status as the traditional must-read for conservatives with an increasingly modern presentation will broaden even wider with its expanded Capitol Hill coverage," Hudson said. "I am honored to be part of its in-depth reporting team and the publication's commitment to keeping our readers informed," Hudson said.

Audrey Hudson is an award-winning investigative journalist whose enterprise reporting has sparked numerous congressional investigations that led to laws signed by Presidents George W. Bush and Bill Clinton.

She recently (2009) won the prestigious Sigma Delta Chi award for Public Service for her report on dangerous drug experiments by the federal government on war veterans, which prompted internal investigations and needed reforms within the Veterans Affairs Department. The report also captured first place for investigative reporting by the Washington, D.C., chapter of the Society of Professional Journalists and was a finalist of the International Academy of Digital Arts and Sciences Webby Awards for news and politics, among others.

Mrs. Hudson broke the real story of the "Flying Imams" in 2006, which lead to legislation signed into law by President Bush to protect "John Doe" passengers against lawsuits for reporting suspicious and possible terrorist activity on commercial airplanes.

Her breaking stories have been picked up and followed by major news publications and periodicals, including Readers Digest, Washington Monthly, and The Weekly Standard, as well as The New York Times, Wall Street Journal, USA Today, and Washington Post.

She has made numerous television appearances on Fox News, CNN, C-SPAN, MSNBC, and CNBC, and is a frequent guest on numerous radio talk shows including the Savage National and Dennis Miller show.

A native of Kentucky, Mrs. Hudson has worked inside the Beltway for nearly two decades - on Capitol Hill as a Senate and House spokeswoman, and most recently at The Washington Times covering Congress, Homeland Security, and the Supreme Court.
