Outside the White House: Celebrating Bin Laden’s Death

At the stroke of midnight a barrage of car horns, snare drums, and chants thundered across 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue, as hundreds of college students and night owls swarmed the White House gates to rejoice at the news that bin Laden was killed by Navy SEALs.

Several iconic chants were being shouted amongst the cheers. Whether it was the triumphant, “USA! USA! USA!” or the Star Spangled Banner, Americans celebrated the justice dealt to the 9/11 mastermind.
