After the GOP repeals the healthcare “reform” bill in the House of Representatives, it will go nowhere in the Senate, right?

Not so fast, says Newt Gingrich. The former Speaker of the House urged his colleagues to “target the 23 Democrats up for re-election and create petition drives in all 23 states [to] build pressure on the Senate to follow the House’s lead.”

To him, repeal is not “symbolic,” but the first necessary step to rescind what he called a “centralized healthcare dictatorship.”

According to a report released by Gingrich’s group, the Center for Health Transformation, there are 1,968 grants of power in Obamacare given to Kathleen Sebelius, the Health and Human Services secretary.

Among the many powers given to this one bureaucrat include control “over access to drugs and insurance coverage to delivery processes and changes to Medicare."

The House should move from repealing Obamacare to a series of hearings, noted Gingrich, in order to maximize public pressure on Senate democrats.

But that’s not all. Gingrich encourages Republicans to cutoff all funding needed to carryout ObamaCare, a move they can make when they draft the appropriation bills in the months ahead.

He believes that Republicans have the moral standing to say, “We’re not going to spend money on this [ObamaCare]. The President can veto our bill or he can block our bill in the Senate, but we don’t have to give him a penny to implement it.”
