For St. Louis Cardinals first baseman Albert Pujols, appearing at Glenn Beck’s 8/28 rally Saturday was a chance to witness to hundreds of thousands of people what role God has played in his life and to share the work of his Pujols Family Foundation.

Watch Pujols explain his appearance.

Pujols, who received an award at the rally for his contributions off the field, also told Human Events that while he wasn’t able to interact with many people at the event, of those backstage and onstage with whom he did interact, “We were right on track, which is about being an example for Jesus Christ and do everything we can to make this country better for Christ.”

Pujols' foundation works with children with Down syndrome, disabilities, and life-threatening illnesses, as well as impoverished families in the Dominican Republic.
