Tim Chapman of Townhall.com sheds some much need light on House Republicans who yesterday honored a group whose leader has compared the GOP to the Taliban. Can you guess who I’m talking about?

That’s right, the House yesterday praised the NAACP on the occasion of its 97th anniversary. Here is Chapman’s take on it:

The resolution passed the House of Representatives yesterday afternoon without even a peep of dissent. Despite the fact that many rank and file conservatives were uncomfortable with the resolution off the record, it passed by voice vote. Because it passed by voice vote, no votes were recorded, so no members officially went on record.

It’s amazing how effective the muzzle of political correctness can be.

I wonder if NAACP Chairman Julian Bond will have words of thanks to the party that “draw[s] their most rabid supporters from the Taliban wing of American politics. Now they want to write bigotry back into the Constitution."

My guess is that he won’t.
