The Los Angeles Times reported last week that far-left "Rep. Maxine Waters' family members have made more than $1 million in the last eight years by doing business with companies, candidates and causes that the influential congresswoman has helped." The Times' December 19 report alleged that her children pocketed fees from candidates endorsed by Waters and her husband profited from a bond underwriting business that worked with her political allies. "They do their business and I do mine," Waters said. "We are not bad people."
