    For Immediate Release
    December 6, 2004

    President George W. Bush today announced his appointment of the following individuals to be Members of the United States Commission on Civil Rights, for a term expiring December 5, 2010:

    Gerald A. Reynolds of Missouri

    Ashley L. Taylor of Virginia

    The President intends to make the following designations, with the concurrence of a majority of the Commission:

    Gerald A. Reynolds, of Missouri, to be Chairperson of the United States Commission on Civil Rights

    Abigail Thernstrom, of Massachusetts, to be Vice Chairperson of the United States Commission on Civil Rights

    The President intends to appoint Kenneth Marcus, of Virginia, to be Staff Director for the United States Commission on Civil Rights, with the concurrence of a majority of the Commission.
