The recent political documentary craze has at last zeroed in on one of the conservative movement's brightest and most engaging stars, Ann Coulter. Until now, the 40-minute documentary Is It True What They Say About Ann? has only been screened at small film festivals, such as the American Film Renaissance and the Liberty Film Festival.

With the release of the Ann Coulter documentary on DVD this week, Ann's legions of fans will finally get a behind-the-scenes look at the conservatism's "diva." Ann's childhood, career, and controversies are all covered in this relatively flattering tribute.

This new documentary was directed by Elinor Burkett, chair of the Department of Journalism at the University of Alaska Fairbanks, and Patrick Wright, chair of the Video Department at the Maryland Institute College of Art. Is It True What They Say About Ann? takes you behind Ann's bombast through original interviews, classic television clips, and Coulter insight. The DVD shows Ann sparring with Katie Couric, handling hecklers at a lecture at Johns Hopkins, and graciously signing autographs for her fans. Targeted to Ann's readers and fans, this documentary will undoubtedly enjoy a longer run on DVD than it did at the film festival circuit.
