Thanks For Remembering Chappaquiddick Incident

Thank you for publishing, in the July 19 issue, a reminder of the Chappaquiddick incident.

I was beginning to think that only Mr. Sharpton and I remembered that shameful affair.

Another 'Axis of Evil' Lurks Inside the U.S.

There is an axis of evil in the United States, too. They are known by their initials: ABC, NBC, and CBS.

The Value of Unearned Gains

When one doesn't earn his medals under enemy fire the hard way, then of course one will not value easy gains.

Therefore one understands how carelessly one can throw away such valueless "trinkets" in the 1970s.

Ann Coulter understands easy come, easy go.

Save Us From John Kerry

I am writing to all at HUMAN EVENTS to let you know I just ordered my first subscription and if it is as good as those who recommend it, I will be a lifelong reader. Also, if it helps stop John Kerry from becoming President that will be enough for me. We have got to stop John Kerry and also his weirdo running mate Johnny "also" Edwards.

I kind of liked Edwards before he accepted John Kerry's offer. Now he is out with me already. I remember Kerry's anti-war days and remember seeing his pictures all over the U.S. in different newspapers and reading various news accounts about him. He will be worse than Bill Clinton for he's out to show up his buddy Bill.

I am a Democrat myself, but I believe in what's right regardless of party or political affiliation.

I hope HUMAN EVENTS will do all it can to stop this man because he is not presidential material.

Woodstock, Liberals And Kerry Supporters

The Woodstock article by Michael P. Tremoglie is amusing and says a lot in a few words.

He describes the liberal intelligentsia perfectly when he says: "These people are now part of the governmental social-welfare complex and are now college professors who preach social justice to their students. . . . Not only were the audience of Woodstock incapable of feeding themselves the leaders of this event were just as incompetent. . . . The very same people who are now liberal Democrats, Naderites, and Communists, the very same people who want to plan every aspect of the economy and society could not even plan a rock concert."

Whoever discovered this guy for HUMAN EVENTS should get a medal.

After your reading your Woodstock article, I was struck with the following thought: that they still arrogantly believe that they are the only ones capable of telling everyone else how to live.

Swift Boat Veterans And Kerry's Vietnam Record

At first I was a bit skeptical of the Swift Boat Veterans for Truth. Perhaps Bush did encourage a rich friend in Texas to fund them (initially) and perhaps they were stretching the truth for political gain.

But the more I look into this issue, the more I think they are simply doing this because they hate Kerry for stabbing them in the back after he returned from Vietnam. I also believe now that Kerry did embellish his record for his well-calculated political gain, from the very beginning. And that fact embarrasses Kerry, so Kerry has decided that the best defense is a good offense and Kerry is now out to try and discredit his old shipmates (at least those who don't go along with his point of view).

Kerry certainly does not deserve to be President, based on this information alone.

I think Bush is stupid to try to silence them, which as far as I can tell, would be illegal for him to do anyways.

I may, perhaps, be a little out of touch but I am very curious about something. I seem to remember the Democrats (DNC or the Kerry campaign) demanding the full release of President Bush's military records to prove their AWOL charge. It was not too long ago that Kerry refused to allow his military records to be made public. Is he (Kerry) hiding the facts of his military service (Vietnam)?

I am a veteran of the Vietnam War (1967/68) and I am proud of my service there. Sounds to me like there is a whole lot of truth coming from the Swiftees that Kerry and other fellow travelers don't want made public. What are they hiding?
