By picking Sen. John Edwards of North Carolina as his running mate, Democratic presidential candidate John Kerry gave the Democrats a ticket that represents the far left of their party. The non-partisan National Journal rated Kerry the No. 1 most liberal senator in 2003. It rated Edwards the No. 4 most liberal senator. On key issues over the past six years, the two too liberal Johns have voted like twins.
