The Anti-Defamation League, founded to fight anti-Semitism, called on the Texas Republican Party to alter a plank in its platform that refers to the U.S. as a ??¢â???¬?????Christian nation,??¢â???¬ Reuters has reported.

The controversial plank reads: ??¢â???¬?????The Republican Party of Texas affirms that the United States of America is a Christian nation, and the public acknowledgment of God is undeniable in our history.??¢â???¬

The ADL would like the language modified ??¢â???¬?????to reinforce principles that unite our diverse nation."

The ADL also disapproved of the Party??¢â???¬â???¢s description of the separation of church and state, referred to in Supreme Court rulings, as ??¢â???¬?????a myth.??¢â???¬
