Rep. Charlie Norwood (R.-Ga.) has introduced the Secret Ballot Protection Act (HR 4343) which would guarantee workers a secret ballot in deciding whether to unionize. Said Norwood May 12, "By replacing this fundamental right with shakedowns, coercion, arm-twisting, and threats, the Big Labor bosses are treating the hard-working men and women of America like second-class citizens. And that's as wrong as the day is long." Victims of union bosses' heavy-handed tactics traveled to Washington to join Norwood at a press conference.
"Since workers are increasingly rejecting union membership when given a choice through secret ballot elections, union officials are leveraging companies to help impose forced unionism from the top down," said Mark Mix, president of the National Right to Work Committee.
