The Boston Globe today reports that the Democratic National Convention will cost the city of Boston $23.8 million in lost productivity, pushing the convention's "economic impact into the red."

According to the report, analysts estimated a $122 million gain for the city, before learning about anticipated transportation delays and other related costs. The current estimate is a $12.8 million loss for the Massachusetts city serving to nominate the junior Massachusetts senator, John Kerry.
