America Coming Together (ACT) has talent as well as money. That's what makes it so potent a force in the effort to unseat Bush.

The ACT Executive Committee includes:

  • Ellen Malcolm, President. In 1985 Malcolm founded Emily's List to elect pro-abortion Democratic women candidates and she has built it into the nation's largest political action committee.
  • Steve Rosenthal, Chief Executive Officer. From 1996-2002, Rosenthal was political director at the AFL-CIO, where he developed voter mobilization programs that increased union turnout.
  • Gina Glantz, Treasurer. Glantz has spent 30 years in campaigns and grassroots organizing. She was the National Campaign Manager for the Bill Bradley for President campaign in 2000.
  • Minyon Moore heads state and local practice at Dewey Square, a politics-oriented public relations firm. She was formerly Chief Operations Officer of the Democratic National Committee, and was Director of White House Public Affairs during the Clinton Administration.
  • Carl Pope. As executive director of the Sierra Club, a 700,000-member organization, Pope oversees a formidable environmental group with a tradition of intense grassroots activism that will prove valuable to the ACT coalition.
  • Cecile Richards. She is President of America Votes, a coalition of 17 national organizations working to mobilize voters on environment, civil rights, women's rights, abortion, education and labor issues.
  • Andrew Stern. As President of the Service Employees International Union, Stern leads the largest and fastest growing union in the country. SEIU has 1.6 million members and a budget of about $150 million.
