$250,000 for the Cleveland Botanical Gardens "One by One Thousand Outreach Project."
-We are now spending "outreach" money to convince people to go to a botanical garden, presumably so that we can then spend more money later on the botanical garden.
$100,000 for "Idaho Women Work!"
-Your money is going to a program that engages in mostly left-wing political advocacy. According to their website, "Women Work!" advocates disastrous policies such as a higher federal minimum wage, expansion of the federal Family and Medical Leave Act, and expansion of welfare programs, to name just a few. And now theyll be doing it on your dime. The government doesn't fund Americans for Tax Reform. Why should it fund any advocacy organization, regardless of political stripe?
$500,000 State of Alaska Department of Health and Social Services Obesity Prevention and Control program.
-Twenty years ago, your mom would just tell you to eat healthy. That didnt cost anything. Today, the government wants to do it instead, at great cost and with no better results.
$500,000 for the Valdez Senior Center, Valdez, Alaska for improvements.
-The Alaska pork machine does it again in Valdez, population 4,036.
