In an effort to keep the American people informed about where their tax dollars are going and to keep politicians accountable, we are bringing to you a regular list of pork projects delivered fresh from the fiscal 2004 omnibus spending bill:

$113,000 to the Children's Museum at La Habra, California, for a "Hands On English Program."

-"Hands off" my wallet, Gary Miller (R.-Calif.).

-----

$1,000,000 for water infrastructure improvements in the City of Corsica, South Dakota.

-Sen. Tom Daschle (D.-S.D.) is up for re-election this year, and the federal government has just bought him the vote in this 600-person town, halfway between Pierre and Sioux City. Keep in mind that $1 million is $1,667 for every man, woman and child in Corsica.

-----

$500,000 for the city of Nashville, Tenn., to replace of "aged buses."

$7,500,000 for Maryland Statewide buses and bus facility.

$6,000,000 for MARTA Buses, Georgia.

-Why should people in Nashville, Atlanta or Maryland pay for their own buses when your congressmen will make you do it instead? (By the way, would it be politically incorrect to say "old buses" instead of "aged"?)
