German authorities are investigating two Christian YouTubers after their video criticizing Islamic anti-Semitism led to allegations of blasphemy under the country’s criminal code. The investigation centers on Niko and Tino, hosts of the Christian YouTube channel Eternal Life, which describes its mission as seeking “to glorify our Triune God.” The channel has roughly 1,400 subscribers and typically features the pair discussing the Bible.

According to Christian news agency IDEA, Hamburg prosecutors opened an investigation into Niko in February 2025 under Article 166 of the German Criminal Code, which covers the offense of “denigrating a religious community.” The charge can carry a sentence of up to three years in prison.

News outlet Apollo later reported on April 13 that Tino is also now under investigation. The video is December 2024 and titled “Islam is no peace,” which has since been removed from YouTube after being labeled “dangerous” by the platform, report Brussels Signal. The creators said the video was influenced by pro-Palestinian demonstrations in Germany following the October 7 attacks in Israel.

Apollo reported it obtained a copy of the deleted video and published a transcript. In the video, the creators stated: “We have the year 2024, and anti-Semitism is once again officially allowed in Germany. Palestinians are committed to the extermination of the Jews, as dictated by the Hadith.”

The pair also quoted from the Hadith, a collection of teachings attributed to the Prophet Mohammed: “The Hour will not come until the Muslims fight the Jews and the Muslims kill them until the Jews hide behind a tree or a rock.”

They later added: “Hatred of Jews – the belief that Jews should be killed, that it is permissible to kill Jews – is a demonic spirit and does not come from God… Islam and the message behind it bring nothing but hatred, power and murder. This religion offers no peace, no joy and no life. They are fighting for a dead message and a dead God.”

Hamburg prosecutors told IDEA the investigation remains ongoing.
