On Friday’s edition of Human Events Daily, host Jack Posobiec and Libby Emmons broke down the latest release of documents in the Tyler Robinson case, including messages between the suspected gunman charged with murdering Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk and his trans lover Lance Twiggs, in which Robinson wrote, "Short of my family being willing to cover for me I am f*cked."

The messages were released as part of a search warrant affidavit from investigator Justin Bowen at the Utah State Bureau of Investigation. The search warrant was filed on September 13, 2025 for a Verizon cellphone number associated with Twiggs. Per the affidavit, an FBI special agent conducted an interview with Lance at the Washington County Sheriff’s Office on September 12. During the interview, Lance showed investigators text messages between Robinson and himself.

Among the messages sent between the two was one from Twiggs that read, "You weren’t the one who did it, right????" Robinson replied, "I am, I’m sorry," per the affidavit. Later in the text exchange, Robinson allegedly told Twiggs, "I’m sorry, but I think this might be it. If the way is clear I can try and come your way to say goodbye, after that I have a spot in mind that I’ll call the police to."

Robinson allegedly wrote that he had "no doubts" the police would be "on me within the hour." Twiggs asked Robinson for "any ideas" on how to get away from his parents to see Robinson. Robinson replied, "For an excuse? idk," and added in a separate message, "For getting out of this? None, short of my family being willing to cover for me I am f*cked."

Posobiec said, "I mean, what do you do with something like that as a defense? This explains to me why the defense team has been trying to delay so much why they've been trying to push for the trial to be postponed, that they've been throwing roadblocks up. They ran down this, you know, crazy rabbit hole about trying to get the prosecutors just, you know, thrown off the case because someone's daughter had been there and it was never going to work. They're just wheel spinning. It seems to me, they're just wheel spinning because they know that. I mean, and this is just one tranche of evidence, we haven't even gone to the preliminary hearing yet."

Emmons noted that the case hasn’t even hit the preliminary hearing yet, with Robinson not yet entering a plea. "The preponderance of evidence that will be used to establish probable cause has not even come before the court yet, and just think once we do hit the preliminary hearing, once probable cause is established before the court and the trial proceeds, we're going to see continued delays as regards jury selection or location of this trial, or any number of things that the defense attorneys can come up with as a reason to keep Robinson alive and unconvinced for just a few days more."

"Because, remember, Robinson is facing the death penalty, and I think one of the things that the defense could be trying to do is to get the state of Utah to remove that potential punishment from their client."
