SCOTT PRESLER to JACK POSOBIEC: Senate can't hide behind 60-vote threshold on SAVE America Act

Conservative activist Scott Presler joined Jack Posobiec on Human Events Daily to discuss the stalled SAVE America Act, praising the House of Representatives for passing the legislation for the third time and urging the Senate to act.

“The House of Representatives, under the leadership of Speaker Mike Johnson, passed the SAVE America Act, SAVE Act, for a third time,” Presler told Posobiec. “It's been on the books now for nearly over a year that it's been held up in the Senate, so thank you to our House for passing that legislation.”

Presler spoke on President Donald Trump’s support, recalling his comments during the State of the Union. “The President of the United States, Donald Trump, during his State of the Union, called the SAVE America Act country-saving legislation, which I completely agree with,” he said.

He also noted Trump’s recent pledge to link approval of future legislation to the passage of the SAVE America Act. “And most recently, as you just announced, the President not only gave our work a shout out, but said that he will not sign another piece of legislation into law until the SAVE America Act is passed.”

Presler praised Senator John Thune for bringing the bill to the Senate floor but questioned whether it has the support needed to pass. “So now, Senator Thune is apparently going to bring the SAVE America Act to the Senate floor, but will it pass? And I want to also thank Representatives of the House for saying that they will also vote no to any Senate legislation until, again, the SAVE America Act is passed. And that's the seat of where we are right now, Jack,” Presler said.

Posobiec asked if the votes are actually there to advance the bill. “Well, that's an incredible setup. Now, we've also heard, though, a lot of people saying that, look, you know, this is great, the attention is there, the grassroots are there, but also the votes aren't necessarily there in the United States Senate. And so have you done any research or are you hearing anything regarding this, you know, just from what you're being told? Do we have the votes? Can we get this across the finish line?”

Presler responded forcefully: “We are not going to allow the Senate to hide behind a 60-vote threshold. I think what the Senate really isn't understanding, Jack, is that the American people, all we want is champions and fighters for us. We are cognizant that some things may ultimately not pass, but we at least want to see you fight for us. And so, bring the SAVE America Act to the Senate floor for debate, and allow the Democrats to expose themselves and furthermore, allow any Republicans on our side that are not willing to do the work, i.e. perhaps even spending weeks on the Senate floor trying to get this legislation passed into law."

He encouraged grassroots conservatives to take action. “I encourage anyone watching across the country, please call the Capitol Senate switchboard at 202-224-3121 and first thank any members of your Senate for co-sponsoring the legislation, but tell them co-sponsorship of the SAVE America Act means nothing unless they are willing to support publicly the talking filibuster to advance the SAVE America Act.”

Presler framed the effort as defending debate and discussion, citing the late Charlie Kirk. “We're advocating on behalf of Charlie Kirk dedicated his life to, which is dialogue, discourse, debate, and discussion. That's all we're asking for.”
